  • Reader in economics, Zakir Husain College (University of Delhi), Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, New Delhi 110002.(since 1995).
  • Teaching and Research Experience: About 35 years teaching experience in DU Colleges. Recognized Permanent Teacher of University of Delhi vide letter No. CB-III/Recogn/84/11485, dt.17th May 1985
    • Nature of Job: Besides teaching, I have remained involved in corporate life of the college. Teacher in charge 4 times, the Deputy Superintendent of Annual University Examination (2003-04); the Convener, the College Library system (1996-99); and the Secretary, Staff Council (2003 - 05).
      Organised 2 seminars. (1) Sustainable Development, (2) Strengthening Democracy in collaboration with Citizen Development Society.
  • Joint Director Eleventh Finance Commission, Government of India (1998-99). The Finance Commission is a statutory body who is appointed by the President of India after every five years to determine the financial devolutions from the Central Government to States.
    • Nature of Job: The only non-IAS officer who worked as the Administrative Head and the Team Leader of the economic division of the Commission; co-ordinated the entire academic work of the Commission; represented the economic division in Commission's in-house meetings and interacted with Senior State Government personnel and Ministries and officials for seeking their official views and data requisition.
  • Consultant: Tenth Finance Commission, Government of India (March 1994 to July 1994).
    • Nature of Job: Worked as the Head of the Economic Advisor's Team. Contributed quite a few innovative ideas (fiscal stress, linking devolution to performance etc.) through in-house research papers.
  • National Consultant: Appointed by Wealth Health Organisation to assist the "Expert Committee on Economics Of Tobacco", set up by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India (21 April to 20 July 1997).
  • Convenor (1994-97), Documentation Centre, and Fellow, Developing Countries Research Centre (DCRC), University of Delhi.
    • Nature of Job: Co-ordinating and organising the entire work of data collection, its computerisation and analysis; and looking after the publication of Data Sheet of D.C.R.C.'s Newsletter.
  • Industry Association and NGO's experience:
    • Fully conversant with the administration of Industry associations and NGOs and their emerging role in the economy; Can creatively handle their internal and external - administrative and non-administrative functions including liaison with ministries, and other such other organizations; and Fully competent in managing and guiding the economic research and designing work-planning methods for the research and administrative staff.
